Design an Inspired 5 yr Vision for Your Life

I got off a call with my wealth advisor where we reversed engineered my 5 year revenue goals. It was part overwhelming, part inspiring and part relieving to understand my “how” to reach big money goals in my business.

Of course, I left with a lingering voice saying “How will I pull it off in the next 5 years?”

And before I allowed myself to be flooded with negative thoughts, I said, let me look back and see what I’ve accomplished in the LAST 5 years. My hope is that it would inspire me to see all that I have created, changed, endured, and accomplished giving me encouragement for what’s to come.

I pulled out my iphone and went back to July 2020. I took out a journal and started listing the significant lessons, achievements, and realized I was creating a list of gratitude along with this accomplishment inventory.

Wow, what a life I live! I have a bad habit of overstepping successes and hurrying on to the next. That way of being undoubtedly leaves me feeling inadequate, overwhelmed, uninspired and drained. My habit of “never enough” is one I’m slowly learning to unravel step by step.

It sparked new conversations with friends as I shared some old photos “remember when!?!?” and the next thing you know my partner pulled out his phone and shared things I had never seen or known from his past (can you believe he lived on a wildlife reserve for 6-months rehabilitating baby manatees in Belize during covid? I digress).

ACTION:

  1. What have you learned, accomplished or done that was deeply meaningful in the last 5 years?

  2. Head to your photos archives and take stock (also give yourself a time limit, lol).

  3. What do you want to create in the next 5 years?

  4. How would you set up your yearly goals to achieve it?

  5. What is the ONE easiest next step to move towards it?
